. Sneed Speed Shop opened for business in April 2003 with a focus on sports cars, a goal of helping clients win championships, and a keen knowledge of Mazda’s Rotary engine. In the original 1,000 square-foot workspace in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Chris Sneed, along with the help of his brother Kenneth, made a name for the shop by building winning rotary engine drag cars, fast sports cars and the ability to fix any automotive creation or problem that came through the door. They also designed, constructed, sold proprietary parts for Rx-7s which were tested on the shop’s track and street cars. The brothers expanded their shop in early 2005 to 2,000 square foot facility by taking over the unit beside them. At this time they added a chassis dyno and Kenneth joined as a full time employee as lead mechanical tech. As the business continued to expand they quickly out grew the 2,000 square-foot space and moved to the current stand alone 10,000 square-foot space in Pfafftown in the spring of 2006. The focus of the shop had began to shift from the rotary engines and drag racing into the new MINI Cooper and road racing.
